I’m in Copenhagen this week for the ESOMAR Innovate conference.
It’s actually been almost two years since I’ve been here in Denmark. You’ve got to love a country where it’s ok to drink beer at 8:00am and where your waitress at a four star restaurant suggest you start your lunch off with shots (schnapps of course). It’s no wonder that the Danish were found to be the world’s happiest people in a recent study (USA is 23rd).
They also have the best hot dogs in the world!
While most economists would probably point to gini coefficients and Lorenz curves, as equality in a society has been found to be a key driver of happiness, it would be tempting to also look at some happiness to beer and sausage consumption correlations as well
Will let you know how the conference goes.
Tom
PS. Had just sat down in a bar when these people walked by. Wasn’t aware of any special holiday. Very patriotic too
