Greenfield Online/Ciao today announced the launch of a respondent education and engagement initiative. The company is inviting likeminded market research companies to join in the effort. Part of the initiative includes video segments such as the one below posted to Youtube.

While a tough economy and unemployment is already having a short term positive effect on survey response and completion rates, this type of initiative is exactly what the industry needs for the long term. The average person really needs to know more about the importance of survey research and the positive impact it can have on better products and services.

    Definitely a good step towards some level of transparency. The market research process can’t be seen as ’secret’ and respondent awareness is a key value and shows a lot of respect for the respondent.
