I typically post mainly market research related topics on this board. While this post isn’t about market research or employee satisfaction research per se, in market research we are often asked to help companies with their employee satisfaction measurement. The Slideshare PowerPoint below is from Netflix CEO Reed Hatings. I think his ideas are fantastic, and perhaps the next time you are working on an employee satisfaction consultation project you may want to think about some of these ideas.
I’d also be curious to hear what you think of them overall, and whether or not you think firms in our industry should adopt some of these management ideas. For instance, would you welcome an unlimited vacation policy or would it make you uncomfortable?

I think their philosophy is pretty amazing and inspiring! I find it interesting to look at the inner workings of unique companies like Google, Zappos, and now Netflix. Just when it seems that business is stuck in a rut, new companies emerge with different philosophies and strategies on management. Somehow their outlandish ideas work and lead to success, which gives hope to the rest of the world stuck in ‘the old ways’…
