Market Research Video Meme
Reminding us that market researchers need to be good marketers as well…
Today we have two firsts in the series of NGMR market research memes. Jon Leiman, Editor of SURVEY Magazine and owner/founder of MRB, has submitted the first video meme. Also, it is the first branded meme. Therefore, as it is a commercial/branded meme, while it will not be eligible for the NGMR meme contest $1,000 grand prize award, as it’s still quite clever we have decided to include it in a new separate ‘corporate category’, which depending on total memes submitted may also be included in the voting in the NGMR contest, for honorable mention in it’s own category.

This was made in June, are you sure it wasn’t just a really scary marketing bit, that Disney didn’t get royalties for?

Eric, LOL.
I thought it was a great commentary by Jon on both what a market researcher needs to be today, as well as a reminder to those of us involved in social media not to take ourselves too seriously.
On a serious note, there really are very few rules in regard to memes. You can take anything used anywhere, you just have to add something of your own to it
As for June, while the date doesn’t really matter, the NGMR meme competition did launch in early June. Jon was actually one of the first to submit back then, but as I pointed out, I’ve just only now decided to release a few of the ‘branded/corporate’ meme’s we received.
Why don’t you give it a shot? I’m sure you can be just as creative as Jon
We strongly prefer unbranded Memes though, which would allow you to participate in the general category for the $1K market research bounty
