Who influences you most on Social Media?
I think occasionally it’s good for market researchers to stop and listen to what the marketers have to say. So I’m planning to reach out to a few of my most influential ‘social media friends’ for an NGMR blog interview.
I’m thinking of folks who are really influential about social marketing (on par with) Scott Monty of Ford or Guy Kawasaki. So I don’t leave anyone very important out, if there is anyone who you know/follow who is Über influential please let me know.
I want this to be educational, but more importantly fun. If my work load permits I hope to have the post ready within a week or two.

[NOTE: I need to keep the list relatively short. Absolute minimum criteria is that they themselves have a very large and engaged following]

I actually don’t follow any of the usual suspects - I really admire and respect the guys who didn’t have a big brand behind them to begin with and started ‘from scratch’.
I really enjoy stories about a small or unknown business coming through because of some brilliant marketing.
I like Scott Stratten at UnMarketing, for example. I also like April Dunford from Rocket Watchers.

Thanks Chris, I know of Scott. Will take a look at April’s stuff.

Shaping up to be quite an interesting interview series already I see with some real Social Media Rockstars!
So far I have in no particular order: Jason Falls, Glen Gilmore, Paul Barron, Ann Handley, Lizz Strauss, Ted Coine, Scott Monty, Eric Tung
That’s eight already, may have room for just one or two more.

Another who has built it “from scratch” is rob key at converseon. He’s a visionary having created a social agency back in 2001 and later incorporated a social intelligence software. Converseon doing some very interesting work.
